What have people said about previous courses?

Hi Geoff and Sarah, I just wanted to thank you guys for an amazing few days at the Summer School. It was such a peaceful environment for learning and we were so well taken care of that it left all the more time for working on new skills. The course was very well designed for self assessment under Geoff’s guidance and was geared individually to each of us, even though we were from very different backgrounds. It got me thinking deeply about many aspects of my job as a music teacher, not just the conducting side. Many thanks and I hope to be back sometime for an indulgence weekend! Cheers -Kirsten

Hello Geoff and Sarah. I had the best time at your course last week. What a relaxed and non threatening environment to learn in. I felt I came a long way in a short time in developing and refining my conducting skills, and I now have a clear direction for both my bands and my own musical growth in the future. I am recommending your course to the Bathurst region’s music associations and I will be encouraging my music staff to come and visit you very soon. The tapas menu was also a real treat! Regards to you and yours! -Andrew

Hi Geoff and Sarah
“I have to take over a Concert Band – Where do I Start?”
What would I advise – do a Foundation Conducting and Musician Management Course with Greysen Music.
My purpose was to gain better skills at conducting. This I achieved, BUT, so much more. Geoff, what a great resource we have at our door step here in Canberra with your wealth of experience. My 4 days at the course has focussed my energy to implement the skills and management learnt to provide my players and myself with the best environment, so that together we can reach our shared musical potential.

By the way I have spoken to Lesley at Case Batons and should receive my order early next week – Can’t wait!

Sarah and Geoff many thanks as well for your awesome hospitality, fabulous conversation and stunning wholesome meals. -Peter

“Having limited instruction in conducting, I found your course to be quite informative and tailored to suit my learning needs. The musician management component was of particular interest and I’ve implemented techniques and strategies and have been seeing great results. We spoke about introducing Section Leaders (something I hadn’t implemented), so on the first day back I chose leaders (not necessarily the best players) & the results were incredible! The students in charge were early to rehearsal & took full responsibility of their section (set up/music/pack up). Something small, but a BIG change. My conducting is still a work in progress, but I am more aware of how my body should feel/move (or not move) & I am much more confident”. -Allanna

“I didn’t realise how I’d allowed my ensemble to get *me* into bad habits. With over 100 players, I let them dictate to me the size of my beat and my conducting stance, without realising that it was actually holding us back. It was so valuable to have my conducting technique assessed outside of the workplace so that I could gain a fresh perspective on the effectiveness of what I was doing”. -Beth

Why Choose Greysen?Music at Midday

We are the ONLY school for conductors that also teaches musician management. We firmly believe that good conducting technique is only half of the job. We work on a personal level with you to gain tailored results specific to your ensemble. You will address specific goals/concerns rather than learning a generic all-rounder technique. Our tutor, Geoff Grey, is one of the most musical, humourous and animated professional conductors in today’s ensemble scene. He has a long history of proven results, turning ensembles around and bringing them into higher grade status. He is also in high demand as an adjudicator across the country, so he knows what Australian adjudicators are listening for. He can help you approach your ensemble with fresh ears to revolutionise your ensemble in 2014.

We provide you with MORE than other conducting courses because our approach is so tailored, and our experience is ALL-INCLUSIVE for one reasonable price.
